NEW! COVID-19 Massage Procedures

Hello,

After so much hard work and dedication from many massage therapists, we finally have been notified that we ARE in the Contingency Phase for healthcare and we can begin to work so long as we follow a list of new safety measures. Originally, I was considering opening up at my old office space in Poulsbo, but after much thought and planning I’ve decided to CONTINUE with in-home massages.

There will be some changes to the usual protocols, but I am sure it will not take us long to get used to them. One important change is that I am using an entirely new online scheduling system called ClinicSense. This new system allows me to send you electronic intake forms and COVID-19 pre-screening questions and acknowledgements along with the usual appointment confirmations and reminders.

I've started the scheduling process for the second week of June. Once things start easing up, I will open my online schedule. Of course, if there is another outbreak or any unforeseen circumstances that happen between now and then, that could change. I thank you in advance for your patience while we work through these uncertain times.

We have received many new protocols designed to keep both therapist and client safe. These new practices and procedures are constantly being updated as new information about the novel coronavirus comes to light. In the meantime, please support me by reading and abiding by the following new protocols when I come for your massage:

  1. I’ll be wearing a mask when I come to your home and for the entire time I’m there. I also have eye protection to prevent me from touching my eyes. I need to request that you also wear a mask for the time I’m in your home and during your massage, however, I’m willing to work with your comfort levels.

  2. I’m required to take your temperature before massage to assure you have no more than a 100.4-degree temp.

  3. I also have to ask some pre-screening questions, much like the ones you hear when you visit a doctor’s office, such as:

a. Have you been asked to self-quarantine by a doctor or local public health official in the last 14 days?

b. Have you experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days (fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other respiratory problems)?

c. Have you had close contact with or cared for someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or someone exhibiting cold and flu-like symptoms within the last 14 days?

d. Have you been tested for COVID-19? What type of test? When were you tested? What was the result?

4. PLEASE wash your hands before your massage. I will also wash or sanitize my hands before and after your massage.

5. I’ll have protective covers over the table, face rest and bolster. I may need extra time setting up and breaking down my table to account for the additional safety precautions.

I will only come to see you if I am well and have not been exposed to COVID-19 or to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14-days. I ask that you only allow me into your home if you follow these same guidelines.

All of this may sound like a lot, but it really is just so we can all stay safe. Believe me, I will still be providing you with the same professional, compassionate, caring massage therapy I have always provided. I look forward to seeing you at your appointment!
